Welcome To South African Ride Hailing Association, The World Of Drivers!

South African Ride Hailing Association (SARIDEHA) is a brainchild of the disbanded Interim Structure also known as Interim Committee, it is an alliance of various Associations that came together in a quest to enable formalization, unity & collectivism in the E-hailing sector. We thrive to champion the interests of E-hailing owners & driver partners, we remain a watchdog of all the stakeholders including the e-hailing App companies, Government (relevant Departments), our counterparts and the E-hailing Partners Council.

Sarideha seeks to improve the security of both driver and rider through different ways that include training of drivers for different environments and scenarios as App Companies only train them for the use of the app. Alerting riders of signs of possible hijackings and dealing with driver/rider problems through Sarideha website and other social media platforms.

Sarideha is also committed in seeing and helping the Provincial structure in their projects that are aligned to our cause.

NB; While we were still Interim Structure hereunder are some of our achievements in fighting for the interests of E-hailing operators;

• We advocated for regulation of E-hailing App companies & participated in the Land Based Public Passenger Transport Competition Commission Inquiry & National Land Transport Act Amendment Bill.
• We advocated for coexistence with our counterparts and resolved to a MOU with Santaco, NTA and Meter-taxi Task Team.
• We advocated for the E-hailing Elective Summit & when GPDRT was stalling, we took the matter to the Public Protector. Who recommended that the Department should facilitate the Elective Summit with immediate effect including other related grievances in our complaint.
• We negotiated against the harassment & extortion tactics by mini-bus taxi patrol squads in areas such as Vosloorus, Tembisa, Vaal etc
• We exposed and challenged Police lack of will to take up e-hailing cases. We opened a case with IPID against Vosloorus SAPS station.
• We opened a case at Human Rights Commission against Uber & Bolt who are accomplice to crimes & murders committed to on e-hailing drivers. Due to poor security measures, micro forcing drivers to take unsafe trips & deprivation of important info to drivers to make informed decisions on accepting/declining trip requests.
• We advocated for the inclusion of E-hailing operators for the Covid-19 Taxi Relief Fund.
• We pushed ACSA & Community Safety on the disbanding of impoundments of e-hailing cars at OR Tambo Airport & won.
• We fought for upfront information & transparency on Uber's trip requests.
• We advocated for adequate issuing of Operating Licenses to E-hailing Operators.
